Janet Johnson, known as Mummy, was the first adoptive mother of April and the ex-wife of Daniel Johnson in the book Dustbin Baby.

Janet is of medium height and thin, with neck length straight mouse brown hair, fair skin and blue eyes.

Janet mainly wears blouses with skirts. After Daniel left, she mainly stayed her nightie at times wearing jogging bottoms and jerkin over it when she took April to school.
Personality[]
Janet was very loyal to her husband Daniel, even after his treatment of her, which annoyed April that she could be so easily won over by him when he wasn't nice to her. She became very depressed after Daniel left, sighing a lot, and seeming to not care about herself or other things. She seemed very cautious of holding April when she was a baby, and also seemed to have fear of germs. Despite the problems, she truly did love and care for April very much, right to the end.
