Ellen is the mother of Julie, the mother-in-law of Frankie and the grandma of Em, Vita and Maxie, in the book Clean Break.

Ellen has short light brown hair and blue eyes. She is of medium height and slim with a nice figure, which makes her look younger than she really is.
Attire[]
Ellen mainly wears t shirts with tracksuit bottoms. However, once she met Eddie, she began to dress nicer to show off her figure, wearing a pink lacy top, sandals and the black designer jeans Frankie bought her for Christmas.
Personality[]
Ellen acts very bitter and cruel a lot of the time. She frequently makes horrible remarks about her family, particularly about Frankie, and Julie being so trusting of him, and about Em's size. She later does seem to change when she begins dating Eddie (Who they met while on holiday in Spain), and later takes Em, Vita and Maxie to London for Jenna Williams' book signing.
Trivia[]
- Ellen found it laughable that Frankie bought her designer jeans for Christmas.
- Ellen's husband left her, which is likely why she's so cruel and bitter; she is lonely and untrusting and hates to see others have what she doesn't.
- When she later met and begin's dating Eddie, this rectifies her loneliness, which is why she became nicer.
- Ellen moves out by the end of Clean Break.
